Why three weeks tells you nothing about your hair

The rule that would have saved most of us a lot of money: judge anything at three months.

Hair doesn't grow on a schedule you can see. Each hair goes through a long growing phase, then a rest phase of about three months, and then it falls out.

That's why a change you make today, good or bad, often shows up in your shower drain two to three months later. It's also why so many of us quit too early: three weeks in, nothing looks different, so we switch to the next bottle.

Pick one thing. Take a photo of your part on day one, in the same spot and the same light. Then wait. Look again at week four, week eight and week twelve, not every morning.

If nothing has changed at three months, you have a real answer. If something has, you'll see it in the photos before you see it in the mirror.
